I am a reader

I like reading, I love books, I know the writers, the contemporary ones and the classic ones. I like the smell of new books, and I like contemplating all the books I can borrow from the library and take home with me. I can discover new topics, find out about new genres, enjoy reading. I am aware of the latest published books, I like debating on a book, on an author... And the Mataró Public Library Pompeu Fabra offers a litterary gathering every month.

Furthermore, the public library offers a number of services to its users: in addition to the documents loan, the librarians offer assessment, formation and literary activities. Children also have a "Fairy-tale hour" on Tuesday at 6:00 in the afternoon, and their own litterary gathering once a month on Thursday. The modern equipment they have allows organizing informative exhibitions, presentations, conferences...
 
The IMAC (Municipal institute of Cultural Action) also edits and coedits lots of publications: exhibition catalogues, scientific collections, booklets, books of different cultural topics...
 
We are aware of the enrichment power of reading and we want to create new readers and new cultural centres in the city. A new library is currently ready to be integrated in the cultural environment of the city.
