Can Xalant Centre for Creation and Contemporary Thought is a livey creation centre, which takes part in several national and international associations of this kind of centres. Artists gather there to find help to put into effect their creative processes; they also promote  experimentation and inform about specific subjects related to the most current contemporary art.
 

When it comes to visual arts, there is also are also artistic projects held every year . The selected works will be in  the Young Art Festival, which takes place every December in a municipal exhibition room. Among the selected projects there will be one winner who will get a grant and the opportunity to have a personal exhibition.
 

When it comes to theatre, the Stage Arts Creation Aid is held every year. The winning projects get  economical and technical advice and hold the première of their play in the Monumental Theatre, during the cycle “Saturdays at 11”.
 

Also, every year, there is the film director project: the Short film Festival. The selected shorts are seen in the Monumental Theatre during the Cinema Festival of November, with prize money for the best one.
 

Imagination and writing ambitions are also rewarded by the committee of the Narrative awards of Science Fiction Manuel de Pedrolo Mataró City. The winning tale is published in the "Pagès Editors" science fiction collection.

 

Promoting creativity and supporting cultural initiatives of young people are also one of the pillars of the IMAC. Because thanks to creativity, we get proposals, thoughts, influences, feelings. That is to say, culture.
