Mataró Beaches
Mataró, capital city of Maresme, is a city that is open to the sea because the Mediterranean sea is both its history and its future. On the promenade you will find 2,5 kilometers of perfectly preserved beaches, with multiple facilities and services located in a ludic and familiar environment, such as sport facilities or playgrounds for children to amuse themselves. Moreover, the promenade, with its bars, terraces and restaurants invites you to stay until the night has fallen.
And, beside the promenade, Mataró's sea, with plenty of nautical activities like sailing, fishing or Mataró's neptune grass, a large meadowland of posidonies only a few kilometers away from the coastline, which is really important for the marine ecosystem and one of the main natural resources of the city.
Just like the sea, Mataró is a city of contrasts, multicultural and alternative, where everything invites you to have a good time, during the day and during the night, especially in summer, when there is a wide variety of musical events and leisure activities on the waterfront.
Mataró Harbour
During the last few years, Mataró Harbour, with its sporting and fishing aspects, has become an important reference point of Catalonia's coast, thanks to its privileged geographical location and its high standard facilities.
It is a wide harbour designed for easy navigation with 1.080 berths with a water depth from 5 to 9 metres and from 7 to 30 metres in length. Furthermore, it has a wide range of services and businesses from the nautical sector. There is also a wide variety of gastronomic establishments, restaurants and terraces, in which you can find typical Mediterranean food. Besides, the harbour has a very attractive ludic night life on offer.
The harbour of Mataró is environmentally friendly: it has the EMAS Certificate, the certificate of environmental quality ISO 14001 and the Blue Flag.
The location of the harbour allows you to enjoy the touristic offer of the city: accommodation establishments, restaurants, businesses, routes and guided tours, concerts, etc. The users of the harbour's services can also enjoy: nautical station, waiting dock, petrol, diesel oil, water, ice, laundry, slip way, cash-dispenser, crane, gateway, maintenance, repairs, nautical goods, security service, fire service, daily weather forecast and radio communication.
Municipal Nautical station
The Municipal Nautical station is a 176 m2 building divided in two floors. it has two dressing rooms; one for men and one for women, services, management offices and client help service, a multi-purpose room for courses, conferences, competition monitoring and equipment room.
The Station was created to support activities of nautical clubs located in Mataró Harbour; as well as the information and invigoration of other activities related to the waterfront, the sea and the promotion of the city.
