Location:
The beach extends from the Riera de Sant Simó to the area of the Hotel Castell de Mata. It is approximately 1.3 km. from the RENFE station.


 

 

La platja de Sant Simó extends from the Riera de Sant Simó to the area of the Hotel Castell de Mata. It is approximately 1,000 meters long and has an average width of 30 meters up to the Civil War bunker and, from there, is 5 meters wide with areas that may disappear as a result of the dynamic movements of the coast. This beach is less urban in nature than Mataró’s other beaches and is divided into an area for family use and a nudist area. The majority of beach services are concentrated on the first section of the beach, which is the part closest to Platja del Callao.

Accessiblity:

 - Accessible on foot, by bicycle, motorcycle or vehicle.
- There are no adapted accesses for persons with reduced mobility.
- Main access: Access from the Riera de Sant Simó.
- The closest interurban bus stop (Sant Simó) corresponds to line 3 and is situated approximately 100 meters from the main access to the beach.

Beach Service Coastal Red Cross

The Red Cross has two surveillance towers, one at the Varador beach and the other one at the Callao beach, and three surveillance chairs distributed along all the beaches. The Red Cross also provides medical assistance at its premises located at the Ponent, Varador and Callao beaches. The flagpoles on the beach indicate the state of the sea and audio alerts are coordinated with the surveillance and rescue services to make bathing safety announcements.

From 16th May to 14th June and from 5th, 6th, 11th, 12th and 13th September, weekends from 10 am to 6 pm.
 
High season:
Every day from 20th June to 30th August, from 10 am to 7 pm
